OverDrive a haven for book readers
For those who love to read, the OverDrive app might just be the greatest gift to readers of all tastes. And what’s better. It’s also keeping our libraries relevant and bringing new readers in.
Ever since I was a fledgling adult you would be hard pressed to find me without ruffled paged by my side. Everything is fair game for me, from the classics (how I admire the works of Hermann Hesse and Oscar Wilde), to poetry (William Butler Yeats is just about the essence of perfection), to non-fiction (anything by the Civil War narrator, Shelby Foote, is tops).
“Brick and mortar establishments are finding it harder and harder to succeed. OverDrive gives me hope in a developing world and keeps the dollars in my wallet.”
As technology has developed, so too has our mode of reading. Having all my books on an iPad pleases my obsessive compulsive self. Some might say I am not a purist, but they can kiss off. It’s about the story not the means of delivery.
OverDrive makes reading easy and cheap
If you’ve never heard of OverDrive, then here’s your moment. Download the app and search for your local library branch. Plug in your library card number (this works even if you have late fees, says the chronic owner of late fees). Choose from an abundance of digital books and audiobooks. These can be downloaded directly on your mobile device, and in some cases, can be read on separate apps like the Kindle and EBSCO.
Brick and mortar establishments are finding it harder and harder to succeed. OverDrive gives me hope in a developing world and keeps the dollars in my wallet.
I’m the type of reader who delves into 5-10 books a month. Which racks up the dollars.
Therefore, I am going to log into the app right now to plan my read for the weekend.
