Mark Zuckerberg says Facebook succeeded because “we just cared more.”
For me, it begs the question of what Facebook cared more about?
Now don’t take this as a criticism. Facebook cared about its own success first and foremost, like any company. But successful brands ensure their success by being all about their prospects and customers and not all about themselves.
Does Facebook care?
I am wondering if Facebook is about to change dance partners and take the floor with a different girl to the dance? New functions such as creating a movie about your first decade of posts on Facebook is near brilliance, but the ads, spam and privacy exposure are beginning to take its toll.
Hit more home runs like the “make a movie” thing may make us forget about all that because it’s about us, the user. But the bar is getting higher and the game is getting tougher.
